... and the adventures have already begun. Today, I made my first attempt at baking Stempelkekse - I think the proper English translation would be "stamped cookies"? Basically, it's a sugar cookie dough that you decorate with stamping, before actually cutting out the cookies themselves. I've been planning to use those stamping tools for the last two years, ever since an 8th-term student gifted them upon me as a Christmas present.

I'm fairly content with the results. I think they aren't bad for a first try. See for yourselves:



The cocoa-flavoured ones are a bit funny because I added the cocoa powder when the dough was already done, and so they got this marbled muster. They look as if cut out of wood, don't they? But since I didn't want to make the dough twice, I simply halved the finished one and kneaded a bit cocoa powder into one half. Yeah, I'm lazy, I know.

I also survived the big cleaning frenzy with all my limbs intact, so I call the day a success.
