51 days left...
Oct. 15th, 2018 07:36 pm... and, after several days of my announcing that I won't be going to Linz with the rest of the gang, finally someone bothered to ask why. I told her, and she was as bewildered as I still am and expressed her regrets that I wouldn't be there. Better than nothing, I guess.
I've decided to make the actual red velvet cake for my party on Friday, after all. Including Mum an myself there will be ten people, it seems, but even if there will be one or two less, that's still enough people to eat the cake. And I can save a slice for each the two people who'd like to come but cannot, not out of their own fault.
So yeah, this is going to be a long night of baking. I'm making the lactose free version because of one of the guests who has serious lactose intolerance. All other dishes/cakes will be lactose free as well. I hope she'll enjoy them; she's such a sweetheart, she deserves the choice to be able to try everything.
I invited a dear old colleague as well who's retired last year. She was so happy about seeing us all again that she postponed a family outing, just to be able to come. I'm really glad we'll have her with us once again.
I haven't written a word for weeks. I think this is the largest dry spell I've ever had. But with everything that's going on, not to mention the crafting frenzy, I simply can't bring up the inspiration. Besides, the latest chapter of The Book of Mazarbul, the first piece of Tolkienfic that I've posted for Ages, resulted on exactly zero reviews on SoA, so the eagerness to write more is rather low, to put it midldy. At least the lovely
disthrainsdotte gave me some positive feedback on FF.Net.
