A mixed day
Jul. 27th, 2018 07:34 pmIt is really hot at the moment. The few drops of rain we had today (fortunately falling at the right angle, so no leaking so far *fingers crossed*) were only good for creating a nice washing room effect: hot and humid. Mum and I are both a bit wilting at the moment.
So I used the tolerable hours in the morning and gave the shaker box a try, using the beautiful papers from The Colours of India collections. Well, the shaker part doesn't really work as I was afraid to use a hot glue gun as on the YouTube video (because I'm utterly useless with a hot glue gun), and the wet glue I used made the inside of the half-globe perhaps a little moist or whatnot. I don't know. It still looks good enough; there will be photos later. I'll need to find the right shape pine cone for the middle next.
( And I wrote a little bit for the new Dwarf story )
Not much, I know, but I'm having fun with it. I wish more people would be interested in Dwarves not dreamed up by Peter Jackson after having smoked too much pipeweed, but I guess I'll have to accept that my Dwarves don't have a chance.
Also, in the afternoon we visited our neighbour whose name is Anna, so she had her name day yesterday. We bought her small gifts and had a nice chat with her. She's sometimes a little tiring but has a good heart, and people who still knew my Granny and liked her are few and far between in those days-
So, this was may day, basically, save that I'll have to pile all things that are usually on the floor onto my desk. Tomorrow the cleaning ladies are coming and they will need room to do their job. In a flat of 53 square metres it isn't always easy to getting things done, especially if more than one person is involved.
But first I'm going to watch Kalkofe's Mattscheibe, and that's final, as Sam Gamgee would say.
