Shocking news

We've just learned that our lady dentist has died yesterday from a heart attack. It was completely, tragically unexpected. She was somewhat older than I but still worked full-time; Mum actually called the practice to get an appointment, and so is how we learned about it.

We are both devastated. She was not only a very good dentist, she was also a wonderful person who we'd known for decades. :((

Another project finished

Yep, it is true. I've finished Christmas Explosion Box #4. Beware of the picspam below - some pics might seem familiar, but the earlier ones showed the various layers of the box in a half-finished stadium, now it is done and ready for the Christmas fair.

Then a look at the complete box, opened, with the little Santa extra in the middle:



(In case anybody is interested, the body of Santa is made of a used Nespresso capsule and the head is a pressed paper ball of a diameter of 2.5 centimetres. The hat once belonged to a chocolate Santa but I recycled it, the hair and beard are cotton wool and the arms chenille wire.)

Alas, I forgot to take a photo of the inside of the finished middle layer before gluing the whole thing together, but it can be more or less seen on the previous picture. I'll try to make pictures from the individual panels tomorrow, when the light will be hopefully better.
