A day in the life of...
Jan. 4th, 2018 11:55 pmSchool has just started two days ago and I'm already completely done in. No, seriously. Christmas break was waaay too short, and even though I like most of my colleagues and the kids, it feels as if has already been forever. I'm getting too old for this stuff.
Not much writing done since, I don't know, forever. I'm slowly reposting old stuff to AO3, just in case, not that anyone but iantolives would give a shit for anything that I put up there, but backup is always good.
I've watched a lot of YouTube vids about various crafting techniques; as if I needed more new ideas! But people do beautiful things there, and even though I don't have their skills, not to mention the materials and tools they work with, I like giving new things a try. At least my colleague who teaches arts and the kids are excited about it.
Still trying to figure out desperately how I could buy myself more paid LJ time from Hungary. Still no idea, and my paid account runs out in April. It's not so much about the possibility that ads would show up on a free account, although they are annoying - it's about losing the major part of my icons and pictures that I'd like to keep. I've become so desperate that I wouldn't even mind if the fee for the money transfer would cost more than a year's paid account (it most likely would, since our national currency is so weak), but I still haven't found a way! I don't have a PayPal account, neither would I dare to experiment with online banking, or what the heck these things are called... it's just annoying.
Yes, I know LJ is mostly dead in these days, save for a few faithful souls. But this is the place where a few people are still present - and besides, it is still a lot more alive than DW. I haven't got a single comment over on DW where a lot of my previous LJ contacts have wandered off, so the migration doesn't seem particularly successful, either.
