Day 3 in Graz
Jul. 9th, 2014 04:18 pmWe had a busy morning. First, we visited the Museum of Modern Art, called The Friendly Alien, because of its bizarre architecture. Then we went over to the St Franciscus Church, which is very beautiful. Great stained glass Windows. Then we were on the Kaiser Josef Market and bought a little flask of local pumpkin seed oil - a famous product of the farmers here. Then we paid a visit to the Landhaushof, the beautiful inner yard of the local parliament, with balconies built in Venetian style. And finally we saw the Armoury, with its over 32000 exponates. On three levels displayed, I saw more helmets, cuirasses, full body armours, both for men and horses, swords, lances, pikes, maces, late medieval firearms and other sorts of weapons than I ever thought to be possible to be horted in one place.
Now Mum is resting a bit, but the day still isn't over.
