Ready for Christmas! *g*
Dec. 24th, 2013 03:41 pmYesterday, I've cooked the Christmas dinner - in advance, because the filled cabbage rolls need to rest at least a day to soak in their own juices properly. It's a delicious dish as
espresso_addict and
mr_ea, who've tried it on the Christmas market, can give testimony. Of course, the home-made version is always a bit different.
This morning, I wrestled the Christmas tree into its metaphorical knees - poor things was like the leaning tower of Pisa, so I had to apply some bondage (and discipline) to the window knobs and other places. But it looks very pretty now. I'll add some pictures later, as I cannot upload from my camera directly to my main PC, but I'll do as soon as I'm on my laptop. Technology greatly complicates one's life sometiems.
As for gifts, Mum and I have already given it to each other: I took her to Graz and she bought me a beautiful shawl there, one I always wanted but never found the right one. My brand new iPad mini has also arrived, courtesy of my neighbour, in time to be laid under the treee. He will come over later and help me to learn how to use it, but he wanted me to have it for Christmas, which is a nice thing.
Now I have nothing else to do than surf the internet a bit while listening to Christmas songs. Mum and I might watch Pope Franciscus celebrate the Holy Mass in Rome in the evening. I'm not into the Christmas crowd at church, when all people who only go there once a year took the place and the air from the faithful worshippers.
I WISH YOU ALL A BLESSED, PEACEFUL CHRISTMAS AND A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!
