Sleeping Dragons 03 update

Sorry for the long absence. I was being busy. Anyway, riding on the picowrimo tide, I've made some modest headway with my Torchwood Season 2 AU.

Chapter 04 has been posted to otherworlds_lib. Trevor is in happy geek mood, Ianto is overworked, Jack is overprotective, and we get our first glimpse of the monsters of the episode... well, sort of. Oh, and there's a tiny little kiss, too. Nothing serious.

On other news, I've come close to finish the last filler chapter of "The Book of Mazarbul". I hope to finish it in its entirety tomorrow, which would mean to pick up the actual story again. Unless I decide to rewrite some of the following chapters, with which I'm still not entirely happy. Grrr! But perhaps I'll write the new chapter frist, and then go back and do some cosmetics with the already existing one. We'll see.

Some baking success

So I got my act together and finally tried out one of the recepies I intend to bake with the 6th-term-kids. It's peanut-chocolate cookies. Or, at least, I think the things are called peanuts in English. They're those lengthy pods with two nuts in each that aren't walnuts or hazelnuts or almonds or any of the more exotic kind. Over here, they're called earth-nuts or American nuts.

So, whatever the correct name of the nuts is, the cookies turned out terrific. It doesn't happen every day that by the time the second thin is baked, Mum and I would have gobbled up the first tin of cookies entirely. Yum!

I also baked apple muffins today, but that's nothing new. However, since all peanut (?) cookies were gone by coffee time, we needed something for tomorrow. You can't have coffee without cookies on Sunday, right?
