The last leg of the journey...
Jun. 2nd, 2011 06:01 pm... for this particular school term anyway. We've got exactly a fortnight to go yet, and though it promises to be extra stressful, this is something to look forward to. In exactly two weeks, I'll be preparing myself to leave town to take the night train to Brasov, Romania, where Mum's going to have her 60-year-high school anniversary. We'll be in her home town for about 3 days, which is shorter than last year, but since we've already done the "looking at our roots" routine last summer, it will be enough.
After that, I'll have a fortnight free, in which I'll try to finish the first arch of the Epic Merlin Story (TM), as I've signed up to the extra-July
picowrimo, in which time "Vox Angelica" is supposed to be finished. I'll be working from July 4-7, but only in the morning hours, till ten o'clock, tops, so it should be doable. It's a question of sheer willpower anyway, as I already know how it will end; it's just hard to force myself to do it with my frigging depressions wrapping around me just a bit tighter each time they return. Ah, well, I've been dealing with that since the age of ten or so, it won't kill me now.
The rest of July will be blessedly free, so if I'm very lucky, I might get the one or other never-ending WIP finished, too.
picowrimo is a very positive experience, the support one gets from the others helps greatly to make headway.
From August 1-5, I'll be working again; again, only in the morning hours. Then the big adventure strarts: 11 days England and Wales by bus! Yay! Granted, the first and the last day would be largely spent on the bus, getting from here to there and back, but still! I know, I've promised to post the detailed programme, and I will, soon. I just have to convert the numbering of the days into actual dates and suchlike. I really hope I'll be able to meet at least some of you folks, although with he tight schedule we'll have, probably only the evenings would work.
In any case, that's the plan, now let's hope it will work out.
