In the next morning, we packed everything into the bus again and left for Bled. The majority of our group continued to Bohinj, where they wanted to go up with a 'lift to the 1,500 m high Vogelberg.. Mum and I chose to stay in bled and go to a small isle in the middle of the lgacial lake,w here a little pilgrim church - originally the seat of a Slavic fertility goddess - could be visited. We went by plenta, which is similar to a Venetian vaporetto, only with a "roof" above it. It was very interesting, and the sight truly breat-taking.
The others returned very soon - we were still drinking our coffe in a café on the lakeshore - they couldn't go up the mountain because the 'lift was still closed. So they went to the isle, too, while Mum and I watched the ducks and the swans on the lake.
I'll discuss Bled Castle in a different entry, again, because of the amount of pic material. Lake Bled picspam is behind the tag.
