May. 26th, 2007 12:09 amI'm slowly returning to normal. Finding my footing in Real Life after a week of blessed absence... well, still having difficulties with that part, especially as we've been hit with a bad heat wave, but inching closer.
Returning to my fandoms, too. Have nearly finished the long-overdue next chapter to The Shoemaker's Daughter, which is a good thing. I was afraid I'd never be able to write Tolkienfic again. But after almost six months, it seems that I actually can. Phew! I'd have hated all that Halabor stuff to waste.
I just hope my Tolkien voice hasn't been completely eradicated by Brother Cadfael. I've been doing Cadfael research for the last months, and Ellis Peters does have a very distinctive style. One which contains many elements I usually get criticized by self-proclaimed "literature critics" on FF.Net and other places. Heh! At least I'm in good company!
