The Malachite Casket by Pavel Bazhov
Mar. 23rd, 2005 11:11 pmHas any of you read it? It's a wonderful collection of interlinked stories, retelling old Russian folk tales from the Ural Mountain.
In one of those tales, "The Stone Flower", is a description of the underground realm of the Mistress of the Copper Mountain - it could be a Dwarf realm, actually. I would recommend the book to anyone who can find it. Alas, I misplaced my copy. It was a wonderful Hungarian translation with gorgeous illustrations (in full colour).
Other than that, I'm dead on my feet and my brain resembles dry moss.
