Spain today decided to legally allow gay marriages - as only the third country on this planet, after the Netherlands and Belgium... or so German TV stated. And that despite the Catholic Church having launched one of the biggest campaigns of recent history against that decision.

I'm really pleased. Not that it would be related to me in any way, as I'm: a) straight and b) completely uninterested in marriage, but tolerance is a good thing.

Not so long ago, I was researching homosexuality in Ancient Greece (which was, in fact, socially sanctioned pederasty) and bumped into a link that was... interesting, to put it mildly. It led to one of those pages where people very logically and persuasively explain you that gays/women/Jews/bycicle riders, insert the group of your choice, are the reason for everything that ever went wrong in the world, and that they are part of a worldwide conspiracy to subjugate everyone who doesn't belong to their little circle of shared hatred and prudery.

I "learned" from that article that women, especially feminists, should be very afraid of the legalization of gay relationships, because when gays get the upper hand, women wouldn't even be needed for sex anymore, just for breeding purposes.

*shakes head*

The crusades some people embark can realy made one gag with utter disbelief.
