We got up an hour earlier because Mum attends to Mass via telly at 8.30. Before that, I took down the dried washing and gave her that weekly shower. Then I made the beds, washed my hair, took my own (daily) shower and prepared the teddy bear plushie for the making.

Having sewn on some of the teddy bear's parts, I decided to make up for the sleep lost in the morning. Then I made Kleingehacktes for lunch. With mashed potatoes from the box. Yes, I know. Horrible. No self-respecting housewife would do that. Fortunately, I'm not a housewife, self-respecting or otherwise, so if there's an option to get over the cooking faster, I'll take it.

After lunch, I added the remaining details to the teddy bear. Now all I need to do is to sew the panels together and stuff the bear. Which will likely happen on Tuesday, as I'll be doing the shopping tour tomorrow. I even managed to write a little bit, so that's good.

In the early evening we watched the Great Australian Bake-Off, while having a light supper. Yeah. Our days are eventful, exciting and fun. [insert sarcasm] But at least they are peaceful and warm. One should count one's small blessings.

Mass on TV? Here on Great Feast Days only. Getting up early on Sunday would be an annoyance. Then again, I'd have done the same for my mum.

I'm a big fan of the British Bake off but I've never seen the Australian one, how do they compare?

It is one of the religious channels (we have at least two of those) that offer Mass and other services on the daily basis.

I love it! Granted, the hosts are a tad silly, but the original judges are fantastic. I refuse to watch the new seasons with Rachel Koo.

Indeed. Health, safety and peace are the things I beg God for every day.

I nearly always use powdered potato. It seems so silly to me to have to go through all the peeling, boiling, mashing etc. when I can just add hot water to powder. The modern versions of powdered potato are much better than the old ones and, as I usually smother them with parsley sauce or gravy, it wouldn't really matter if they weren't.

I'm an opportunist when it comes to housework. Any kind of housework.
Baking doesn't count, of course, since that is art. 🍰

I use a German brand that requires 500 ml boiling water, 200 ml cold milk and a chunk of water or margarine for one package. I usually put more salt into it than required, so it has a really good taste. And there isn't any risk that I might have to throw out half the potatoes because they have frostbite or whatnot.
