... was fairly busy again. I started with taking down the dried washing, continued with giving Mum her weekly shower and then went on to do some cleaning. Not a very deep one, where - as a former colleague of me liked to put it - I would bite out every spider from each corner, but I did a fair bit of surface vacuuming. Enough to temporarily kill my back as usual. But that was in the morning. I'm better now.

Cooking was an easy affair - I mostly finished the Champignonfleisch yesterday, just had to add the creme freche to it and to make a salad and some Semmelknödel aus der Tüte as side dishes. It turned out delicious... we probably ate too much of it, but there's still enough for tomorrow. Long live the leftovers!

I think this flooded bathroom/loo/kitchen thing has brought me to the end of my tether. I keep taking naps several times a day and am still ridiculously tired all the time. Last time I was so floored had happened back in 1988 when I left my convent and was put up by a German friend for a couple of months. *sigh*

At least I managed to do a bit of crafting again. Not much: I just cut out the parts for the washing machines for the dollhouse quiet book. They're supposed to look like this one, only with silver front doors instead of grey ones.

We then watched "The Incredible Dr. Pol", "Salvage Hunters" and the GBBO (not in one sitting, of course; we usually watch TV while having breakfast or lunch), and that was basically it.

I hope they fix the pipes in the flat above us tomorrow, as promised. As for us, three whole rooms will have to be completely re-painted... *sigh*

Be patient with yourself and take it as easy as you can. That bathroom disaster eating up all your energy is very understandable. Hope it will soon be over

Semmelknödel aus der Tüte- we had them now and then, when I was still working. Now hubby thinks that I have plenty of time to do 'real' ones. I so hate working with the dumpling dough...

Possibly a bit of depression creeping in, and that's understandable. Having your home flooded, and not being able to do anything about it yourself, is frustrating as hell. (Been there. Done that, on more than one occasion.) Add the dark winter season and the come down after Christmas, and you have the perfect recipe. I hope life picks up for you again soon.

They say it is. I'm not sure I believe them.

My parole re: cooking is — never do them for 'real' when they come from the Tüte. Interestingly enough, even my Grandma was more than willing to use ready-made pasta and the likes in the last two decades of her life. And she was an excellent and fairly traditional home cook.

Right now it seems to be over — well, save for the need of having three entire room painted later on — but I don't really trust the peace just yet.

Thanks. The fact that I haven't had a single day off in the last six years doesn't help things either, of course. *sigh*
