... and I've already baked two batches of cookies. One of them is a new recipe:

At first I was suspicious because every time they tell me on YouTube how easy the recipe is, it's either way more complicated or total crap. But this time I was pleasantly surprised. My version has two cookies glued together with melted chocolate and decorated a bit with the same, but I basically followed the video - save that I worked with a wooden spoon instead of a mixer.

The other recipe is an old one, also with chocolate and peanut butter, but I replaced the flour with ground peanuts for my friend Evie who'd developed a gluten intolerance lately.

I also finished the cooking I had started yesterday, added boiled Spätzle to my dish and making a mixed salad. Plus, I had to take down and put away the dried washing, so there really wasn't much time for anything else.

H. sent an e-mail from Germany; she's at home right now, visiting her siblings and celebrating her 70th birthday. They apparently have a good time, which she more than deserves. Her side of the family is very pleasant.

That is why most of them go to other people. 😉

I already dread the Christmas baking. The family wants cookies with jam. I dislike jam. At least I will eat fewer cookies then.

This is why I don't bake. Too many ingredients and too much effort. Lol! I'll stick to buying them from the supermarket.

Awww, that's sad somehow. :(
I love cookies with jam, even though making them can be a bit messy.

Well, you make clothes, actual clothes, by hand. I could never do that. Plushies are my sewing limit, and even those happen rarely. I greatly enjoy baking, though, and hunting down the ingredients are part of the fun. 😋

L. has the simplest peanut butter cookie recipe I ever saw in my life. All it has in it is peanut butter, sugar and an egg. I thought they were kidding when they told me that. No flour, no baking soda, nothing but those three ingredients and they're excellent peanut butter cookies! They used to make them all the time when we lived together (and before they got diagnosed as diabetic)

I do like a peanut butter cookie. Although my recipe is even easier than that one; empty the contents of a 340gm jar of peanut butter into a bowl, fill the jar with sugar then add that to the bowl, and an egg. Mix well, them form into balls, flatten with the fork as is traditional — bake.

And, honestly they come out really well every time.

I should have read your comment before I posted mine, giving exactly the same recipe!
