Yeah, we do have them sometimes, too. And this time more than one. So, let's have a list.

1) Remember when I whined about my spicy apple jam turning into gum drops? Well, last night I decided to open the jars, carve out little balls of the stuff (with a kitchen utensil used to carve out melon balls) and sell them as actual gum drops on the fair. Well, after opening the first jar, I discovered that the jam didn't actually turn into gum drops. It is a bit thick and jelly-like, but it can still be used for pancakes and the likes. So I decided not to open the remaining jars, and the one opened will be used up for Topfenknödel or whatnot.

2) I actually managed to finish all four cherry pit pillows, and there were enough cherry pits for all four - well, barely, but still. So I didn't butcher the bigger old one just yet. We'll see if I'll feel up to sew more pillows or not, but four will be enough, too, considering how much other stuff I'm making.

3) Today I gave the so-called Turkish honey a try. It's an abysmally sweet treat, consisting of, well, honey, sugar and bicarbonate of soda. That's it. I saw it on the GGBO, and it looked so funny, so I wanted to make some for the fair. I found a very easy recipe - and in Hungarian, too! - so I thought I need to see first if it works at all. Well, it did. I made a few mistakes, but I know what those mistakes were, and I'm fairly optimistic that I'll be able to make the real thing in the right manner, eventually.

4) As my brain cells managed to solidify again, I gave my problem chapter a close eyeball and realized, to my eternal relief, that it's only one short paragraph that I'll have to throw away, after all. The rest needs some adjusting, true, but in the end I'll be able to use those parts. That was the best news of the day!

The hoped-for drop of temperatures hasn't really happened - not drastically, at least. We still had 31°C in the afternoon. Apparently, it won't climb above 24°C tomorrow morning, so I might take Mum out for a walk. *fingers crossed*

It is. I'm sure the dentists love it, as it ensures them more patients.

I hope you get your walk. It's lovely here today, after a steady amount of rain yesterday. What great news about your story. Maybe you could use the paragraph idea somewhere else.

Turkish honey- isn't that the tooth-rotting, cap-pulling sweet sold at fairs?

Nah, that paragraph was just the repetition of something already written a page or so before, only in a slightly different way. That's the danger of having long breaks between two bouts of writing; I tend to forget that I've made changes while transcribing the stuff onto the computer. Ah, well, it was just a small thing.

It's great when you can improvise with food. I accidentally pulverized a couple of cookies so I'm just going to mix them in ice cream.

Yep, it is. Which is why I decided not to make any for the Advent fair. I never tried eating it before, simply because I hate the taste of honey, but it looked so funny on the GBBO, I thought it would be interesting to offer some. But after I'd tasted it I realized it would be a total waste of sugar. I'll make coconut-flavoured Christmas tree bonbons instead, I think.

Well, it is high summer, after all. It is supposed to be hot. I just happen to hate it. *g*

That sounds yummy. But how did you accidentally pulverize the cookies? Sit on them?

Carried them around too long in a backpack.
