We had 38 degrees today. Oh, merciful God, it was HOT! It's still 32 degrees outside, although they promise one somewhat easier day on Friday. We'll see - and feel, I'm sure of it.

Nonetheless, I was somewhat crafty today. I've started filling the lavender sachets, now that I can hope for more raw material. Seven are filled and sewn closed, seven more to go, depending on how many lavender I get tomorrow... and perhaps even later on. But that was about the full amount of my activities today.

Other than that, we ate leftovers, watched some telly and rested a lot. Mum feels marginally better, even though said margin is really, really narrow. But we keep up hope. The heat doesn't help, of course; all our joints are suffering from it.

I even did a tiny bit of writing - still just jotting down ideas that might or might not be used in actual stories, but building up a solid background is important for me. I need to know those things, even if nobody else is going to ever hear of them.

Speaking of writing: I've been swamped with PMs from FF.Net, in which so-called visual artists are offering to turn the one or other story (mostly "Timescapes, though) into a comic or make illustrations to it or whatnot. I steadily ignore them, but I do find the whole thing slightly odd.

They want money for art, and are just fishing for clients. I have blocked over 150 of them, and I am NOT being polite, several of them have tried harassing me because I told them no and blocked them. They don't actually READ anything. The comments they make about my stories have nothing to do with the actual stories. I've reported a bunch of them to the site, but whoever is in charge is doing nothing. I get up to 6 a day and I'm fed up with it. If I didn't have actual readers there, I'd stop posting there.

I've stopped updating my stories on FF.Net, since no real readers have shown up for ages. At least on AO3 I sometimes get a kudos or two. Some of my stories have more chapters than even hits, sadly. :(

As for the so-called "artists", the funny thing is, even their wording is almost the same. I think they copy and paste the same platitudes from each other. I'm simply ignoring them and from time to time delete their messages.

Yes, they do a lot of copy & paste, and a lot have multiple accounts under similar names. Most have blank profiles, or a list of sites where they can be reached, and many have started asking really stupid questions, trying to get a conversation going so they can offer their services. They have no understanding of what fanfiction is. It's so irritating, I'm waging a private war against them. They have no place on a fanfiction site.

As of tomorrow we'll get these temperatures as well and this time it's to last until Wednesday. Ugh.

Yep. The same 'bot' is working through my stories with offers. Like you, I just ignore them. Your temperatures are, literally, killers. It's a balmy twenty-four here, but feels several degrees cooler because of a quite blustery wind. One particular gust actually stopped me in my tracks when I went for my morning walk.

I don“t know about comics, but a lot of fanfiction I recently read got inquiries about possible translations to Russian.

Those so-called visual artists are all over Tiktok too, bothering people. It's a scam, of course.
