Some of you might be familiar with Kik - a chain selling clothes, household items (like dishes), toys, craft supplies, stationery, sweets and the likes. It is also one of the few places specialized in oversized clothing. The offer isn't terribly widespread, but sometimes they have really nice pieces. So I bought myself a lovely summer dress today, of a lightweight fabric that is wonderfully cool to the touch. It will serve me well in summer when temperatures climb into the upper 30s (in Celsius, mind you).

Of course, the designers of oversized clothes haven't realized the fact that just because someone needs wide clothes it doesn't mean that said clothes have to be half a metre longer than normal. I'm 164cm tall (well, short, actually) and need XXL-size clothes. The new dress sweeps the floor when I put it on. So I'll have to take it to the Anderungsschneiderei (sorry, no idea what it is called in English) and either have the ruffles cut off or the length taken in somehow. Which means additional costs, but since Mum announced to pay for the dress itself (as my Easter gift), I only have to pay for the fitting. And I'll have a lovely dress for the summer.

If anyone wants to take a look, it's here - the dark blue dress with the small floral pattern on the left. I gave the combo on the right a try, too, but I looked fairly ridiculous in it, so I decided to leave it.

I also paid the Pepco shop (with a similar profile, albeit with an emphasis on children's clothes) a visit, where I bought another 18 styrofoam eggs, for the equivalent of 1.5 Euros. I already had 6; I'll paint them and put them into small baskets made of toilet rolls and give them to my fellow choir members as Easter gifts.

Not much else got done today as I was hopping around from shop to shop all morning (starting with a food run, actually). But I'm content with my acquisitions, especially as Pepco is the only place where I can regularly find Terry's chocolate oranges, which we both love very much. Not the dark chocolate ones, alas, but the milk chocolate ones aren't half bad, either.
