This was a hard day - hopefully the last such one until Christmas.

We started with the big cleaning frenzy. Our cleaning lady was on time, and we went through the entire flat in just two hours. While she was working in one room, I put the already finished ones back into order, so I finished about the same time as she did. But getting up at 6am really hurt.

Afterwards, Mum and I had breakfast, and then I left for my second weekly shopping tour. I usually go to the shops twice a week because I just can't haul home everything at once. It was a successful one but took forever; the supermarkets were overcrowded, mostly with old people blessed with the unique talent to block everything with their shopping carts and make it impossible for others to reach the shelves. *sigh* I'm an old hag myself, but I still get frustrated by my generation sometimes.

Coming home, we had lunch - leftover soup and Zwiebelkuchen that I bought at Lidl, so that I wouldn't have to cook - watched some telly, I called H. on the phone and then fell asleep for about two hours. Got up to watch the next episode of "The Repair Shop" - only to find out that the stupid channel took it off the programme. Grrrrrrrr!

At least I finally took the time to post the last chapter of "Enterprise - The Maiden Voyage, Part I." to AO3. I'll start posting the already written Part II. in the new year.

I hate it when they change the programme without previous announcements.
Some stations here do that all the time!

I was at our local supermarket today — I was able to fit what I needed into a basket, which was good because people were getting very stressed trying to find any spare trolleys!

I despair of supermarket shoppers. I get so frustrated with people who think they're doing everyone a favour by putting their trolley to the side, so that others can reach the counters. What they forget is that nobody can get past them now, because their trolly is stuck out in the middle of the aisle.

Well, I could have checked the programme online first, but I hadn't expected them to stop showing something on a Friday while it had been running all weekdays for several weeks. Still annoying, though. There is so little worth watching on TV!

In our local Lidl they've finally seen the light and organized more small trolleys, so that the battle is less ferocious now. Earlier on, they had an ungodly amount of those great, big ones that nobody wanted to take because they are so clumsy and hard to maneouvre, so that people rather piled up their purchases in the smaller ones until everything started falling off...

Indeed! That was one of the very few programmes worth watching.

Especially as the aisles are so very narrow because they cram as many shelves into one shop as possible.

Shopping is definitely no fun the days before Christmas!

my personal name for those (mostly very old) people who block the aisles in the grocery store and get very pissed if you say "excuse me" to them are butter readers. I even put it in urban dictionary.

I hated it when they removed my favorite shows. There were not that many that I liked anyway, why I ditched cable.
