Anyone wants a chunk of our summer?
Sep. 1st, 2024 05:46 pmI'd be happy to gift about 10 degrees of our temperatures on any volunteers. We're having 34°C again, and things are getting unbearable. We both had to lie down and sleep a bit both in the late morning and in the early afternoon, just to survive.
Today I had to cook; a very simple thing, Topfenknödel, but after the roughly 35 minutes it took I had to wash myself and change clothes. The ones I cooked in could be literally wrung out. This summer is really, really insane... and we are used to hot summers.
At least the muse was still willing to cooperate, so I've written another chunk of the 2nd chapter and started typing up what's been written so far. Small steps, but progress nonetheless.
Tomorrow I'll have to leave the house, much to my chagrin, as I have official things to do in official places. At least they open at 8am, which is a time with still bearable temperatures. I'll have to go to the supermarket afterwards, though, and that will be a lot harder. But we're running out of washing powder, cleaning detergents and the likes, and I don't like buying them together with food, seeing as I have to haul them home in a bag.
