Just some boring domestic stuff I need to get out of my system.

I got published again - as a translator. *sighs* I guess since I waste my time with fanfiction, instead of re-working my series of original novels into something readable, it's no surprise that all ever gets published from me are translations.

I've got seven books published by the Order of St. Benedict, which I translated from German. There are small pocket books, about fasting, prying, meditation, symbolism and the likes. Yes, they aren't my books, I haven't written them, but at least I made them accessible for my fellow Hungarians. Some of them are completely sold out, so I probably did good work with them. *g*

This is the second sci-fi short story translated by me that gets published in the Galaktika Hungarian sci-fi magazine. More might follow. It's fun work, which I like to do, and it brings some money into the house, so it's okay. But considering the quality of what I translate and what I could write myself, if I had the time, the peace to write and the necessary connections to get published, it's a little frustrating sometimes. :s

Mom got the sling off yesterday. Now she'll have to do gymnastics to get some of her arm movement back. The doctor says it'll take as long as till the end of the summer until she reaches the best that can be reached. That's a little frustrating, too. We wanted to go to Carcassonne in the summer, supposing that I managed to book a hotel room through some travel agency somehow. She's fluent in French, so we could have had a good time. But now, it's a doubtful that we could do it. I don't know how she'd be able to get into the train and spend a night there and stuff. Too bad.

As for me, well... I can only use nine of my fingers, due to a badly broken fingernail (that of my right index finger, of all possibilities), which makes me even more clumsy than usual. I broke several other fingernails as a result, but none as badly as this one. My blood pressure must be acting up, as I have ringing in my ears and some whistling sound several times a day - thankfully, they go away again. I probably need more sleep.

And the swelling of my feet got dramatically worse, because I had to stand so much at the doctor's lately. One must let the actual patients sit, and after 2 or 3 hours, it's a little tiring. But, well, Granny had the same problem and still managed to live 96 years, so I'm not particularly worried about my legs.

I almost finished Mission to Daleth IV. Only have to write the fight scene to Chapter 9, and it's done. Paul, that darling Memory Alpha member, is about to do the beta work for the entire Birthright series, so I can re-post those stories and not be ashamed about the grammar anymore.

Okay, I'm done with whining for today. I must take Mom to the doctor again, then paint the Easter eggs, and probably bake an Eastern bread, too, somewhen this afternoon. If my ailing finger cooperates, that is. It's frustrating that such a small thing could cause so much discomfort. Just like the One Ring.
