What a bit of wind can do
Jul. 13th, 2024 09:34 pm... is making even hot weather bearable. We had a windy morning and were grateful for it. Temperatures were supposedly around 28-29 degrees... until the early afternoon, when the wind stopped and it skyrocketed to 36°C. The afternoon was an agony. Fortunately, in the early evening we had some wind again, which was a relief.
I put the morning to good use: wrote about a page, brand new stuff and all, and made some modest progress with pot holder #6. I'm not as happy with it as I hoped to be; the material gave, and the whole thing went out of shape quite a bit, but it can't be helped. Things like that happen when you sew by hand. *sigh*
No cooking today, although I did make the apricot... whatever for the Topfenknödel tomorrow. We ate the rest of the leftover carrot soup and some sandwiches. I'm lucky that Mum is willing to have such meals. Many old ladies would not be.
We also had laundry day and decided that Mum should take daily showers as long as it is this hot. We'll see how long she's willing to do that. *g*
