... leftovers are not. So I had to cook today, after three days of blessed lack of kitchen duty. I used the last of the leftovers (some boiled pasta), added cooked cauliflower, chopped tomatoes and some creme freche to the mix and made a vegetable soup out of the cooking water of the cauliflowers. Mum loved it, and I was fairly content with the results - especially as we still have half of it for tomorrow. Yay!

On the more creative side of things, I've finished the second pot holder - the one including the original pattern of the fabric - and pinned together the third one. Still feeling guilty for not working on the baby book but just couldn't bring up the energy. *sigh*

Not much else happened. We called my cousin, who has his birthday, and Mum gave him (after the proper congratulations) a piece of her mind for never calling. I like it when Mum stands up for herself. Besides, had I brought up the topic, the conversation would have been a lot less friendly.

You are very creative in your use of leftovers. As somebody who hates cooking I tend to just throw weird combinations on a plate and eat. The other day I ate sweetcorn, tomato, and coleslaw, with a piece of fish from the freezer. A somewhat eclectic mix.

It was a very polite, mild-mannered rampage, but she did tell him what she thought.
