... because I'm too tired for any coherent thoughts. I had that appointment with our family doctor today, and it went well. She reassured me that Mum will basically be able to lead her life as before, once we've managed to build her stamina back up, which is the primary issue in the whole mess. She needs some more medication to regulate her blood pressure and against low iron levels, but that's basically it. She's even allowed having coffee (not that we'd go to excesses with that) and is encouraged to continue her exercises. The physiotherapist is coming tomorrow, so they'll figure out things between the two of them.

As for me, the doctor suggested to start taking some calcium/vitamin D combo for my bones. Perhaps it will help against exhaustion, too? One can always dream.

I also made a short food run to put the -10% senior rabat to good use, as it ends tomorrow. In that spirit, I bought some mushrooms that are otherwise shockingly price-y and cooked Champignonfleisch with pasta for two days. That means, I won't have to make any major cooking tomorrow, except for finishing the soup and tossing together a salad of cucumbers and tomatoes. Yay! That gives me the chance to finally grind the dried rolls into Paniermehl - they've been lying around in the kitchen for half a week.

After all this was done, we both hoped for a nice, long nap... and that was when our neighbour popped up, visiting Mum. Which was nice of her - only that she's another person who tends to talk a lot and to become louder and louder the more excited she gets. And she's a very excitable person. When she finally left, Mum had a headache and my head felt as if it had been full of wet cotton. So we both chose to sleep for an hour. It didn't help much. I'm still kind of numb in the head, despite having watched two entire episodes of the GBBO and the Canadian version of it, respectively.

I think some Solitaire is due now before I go to bed. Nothing that would require higher brain functions is doable right now.

Nothing worse than expecting a nap and getting a headache.

Visitors are lovely, but I always heave a sigh of relief when they're gone.

That is good news about your Mum — and I am sure her stamina will improve — good food, provided by you, and gentle exercise provided by the physio, should both really help.

Sometimes I wouldn't mind if she were a bit more concerned, in truth, but this time I find it reassuring.

And next week our talkative chiropodist lady is scheduled for a visit. *sigh*

I've seen the Canadian version. I like it. No Noel.
