I've promised pictures of the latest crafty stuff, haven't I? Well, I made a group photo again. It's big, in order to make out the details, so I put it behind the tag.

Left and right are two of the ribbon bows with paper flower background. In the back are the Kandis sticks (meant to sweeten tea, originally, but they'll work well enough as lollies) and in the front the little glitter bottles.

I've also started writing my Christmas cards. I want to send them on their way around the first day of Advent; hopefully they won't arrive too late then.

Other than that we were packing for tomorrow's bathroom invasion and are both increasingly nervous. Hopefully Louise (the washing machine) will get out of the whole thing unharmed. *fingers crossed*

Oh, and we had choir practice, too. But it was a lot less fun than usually. In fact, it has been less and less fun lately, I was just too glad to get out of the house once a week to realize. I'll do the Christmas concert, of course, for the sake of the others, but I'm not sure I'll return in the new year.

Oh dear, what happened to your favourite choir practising? I definitely know how hard it is for older people to compete with young ones, but still!

It has something to do with our conductor playing favourites — and it isn't even age-related! I've already left the choir once for a full year because of this but had returned in the hope that it will get better... or that I will tolerate it better. It worked, too, until now. But I find I'm getting more intolerant the older I grow.

Pretty.
Why is choir not so fun anymore?

I'm sorry your choir hobby is not working at the moment. Maybe you could find a different choir?
I have more or less decided not to send any cards this year. Postage costs within the UK have gone up a lot, so I dread to think what foreign postage will be.

No, it is this choir or no choir. It isn't just the singing; it's the regular meeting with former colleagues, too.

Postage costs are fairly outrageous over here, too. But since I can't really send gifts to my online friends, I chose to send cards once a year... as long as I can still afford. There is something to say for hand-written cards, even though mine won't be self-made this year.

Oh man, I'm so sorry. {{{hugs}}} Are there any other choirs you could join?

So sorry about the choir, I know how much you love singing. Sad that one person can ruin something for others.

Perhaps, but I don't want to. This choir also means to visit my former workplace regularly, to meet ex-colleagues that I love... it isn't just about singing.

She's not a bad person, actually. She's just like a child with a new toy. We old toys, however, take it personally sometimes.
