In der Weihnachtsbäckerei

... gibt es manche Leckerei fürwahr!

In other words: I baked 4 different sorts of Christmas biscuits today, which took me basically all day, save for two short rests in front of the telly. Three of them are just the basic biscuits, mind you, they will have to be filled and decorated tomorrow and/or the day after, but the Vanillekipferl are in the box and all four doughts behaved, so I'm not complaining.

Needless to say that not much else was done today. We ate Tütensuppe mit Butterbrot for lunch and sampled the biscuits to the afternoon coffee... exactly the kind of diet that I prefer. *g*

Oh, wow! Das ist eine Leistung!

Ich habe einmal versucht, Christstollen zu backen — er is so hart geworden, man hätte ihn als Mordwaffe benutzen können. Danach habe ich aufgegeben und zu Plätzchen überwechselt. *g*

I only bake cookies which will last a very long time. It's common that I get visits from friends I won't see all year long, and those are the only ones I need cookies for. But I love to see yours, they are always done with so much love and dedication. And they are always well-decorated- mine are not...

Sounds like a great baking day! To me, the best part would be getting to sample the wares.
