Last night I've emptied and cleaned all the wee jars containing the expired jam and the likes, and this morning I sacrificed one big jar of not-quite-grapefruit-jam to refill them. I'm sorry to say that heating up the jam and adding more sugar and lemon juice and gelatin didn't help; if possible, it's even more liquid than before. But I added a few cubes of crystalized ginger to each little jar and prettied them up (and besides, the not-quite-jam still tastes fantastic), so I hope they'll sell on the fair nonetheless. *fingers crossed*

Here they are, all 12 of them:

Writing-wise it was a good day, too: I've managed to rewrite the important scene in a satisfying manner and round it up properly. Now I'll have to make thoughts about how to get over to the next scene.

We had various outside visitors today. First a man came from the firm that will make the walk-in bathtub, to measure our bath and finalize the assignment. We'll get a bench over the tub, a handhold (or whatever it's called in English) installed to the wall, a new front panel for the tub and even a new pipe for the washing machine. It will cost a pretty penny (a month and a half's worth of my pension, in fact), but it will be worth it. After nearly three years, poor Mum finally will be able to take a shower again.

The exterminator also came. We have no bug problem, thankfully; this is a preventive measure, done four times a year. Of course, it also means we had to free all the zones where the bug spray will go - and we just had put everything back to its place on Monday! *sigh*

Then my friend Evie called, and we chatted on the phone for more than an hour. So, all in all, a round and eventful day. :)

The jam-syrups look great! I’d definitely buy one. The bath-tub renovations sound like a good investment.

That sounds like a good day. Your grapefruit and ginger 'sauce for ice-cream' looks lovely, I'm sure it will sell well.

The one thing I don't like about my rented home is that there is no shower. Sometimes my back protests when climbing out of the bath. I tried one of those suction grab bars and it stayed suctioned for about five minutes before crashing into the bath and scaring me to death.

Nosy again- do you already know how long it will take for your walk-in bathtub getting installed? Because here a friend ordered one, and she is waiting for more than two months now- skilled worker shortage! Means that the firm wanted her signature only, and she has to wait forever, because there´s no delivery date in the contract.

They'll do it on December 1. Apparently, it will take a couple of hours. We won't get a new bathtub, though. They cut the door into the old one. This is a firm specialized for this kind of job and are apparently good at it. Mum's lady friend is very satisfied with her new-old tub.

Good gried, I'd have been scared to death, too! We'll have an Inox one, firmly fixed to the wall.

I certainly hope so, after all that work I've put into it! (not to mention the costs)

I hope it will work out. Mum deserves to have a decent shower. Bathing is out of the question, she won't be able to get to her feet again, but sitting on the cross bench and being showered properly is going to be a blessing.

Ooh, the grapefruit jam jars look lovely! I've seen advertising for walk-in tubs here and installation or construction is quick. I hope yours works out well.
