I've managed to spare two separate hours for writing today. The current chapter of "Charmed into Darkness" is slowly taking shape. Not many actual words added, but I've copied my random paragraphs into the notebook foreseen for this purpose, in the right order, and reached again the rough draft of the most important event of this chapter, which I'll properly re-write later.

I also did some crafting: I've folded and filled all currently existing surprise boxes (I'm up to 107 at the moment) and transformed two tins (originally consisting sweet corn and chopped tomatoes, respectively), into rather Christmassy pencil holders (photos later). That was something I'd planned for a while but kept forgetting about it as the tins weren't in my direct line of sight. Old age can do that to a person.

We also had choir practice. Ilike, one of my retired colleagues and fellow choir member, brought me a big plastic bag of random stuff for filling the surprise boxes. Alas, very few of the things were small enough. (Mum grumbled that Ilike brought me all her junk and refused to accept the fact that I had actually asked for it. She forcefully declared that I was nobody's refuse collector. Which is true, but in this case...)

There were 12 tiny jars of expired jam in the collection. I'll throw out the jam, sterilize the little jars and refill them with the slightly liquid grapefruit jam. I hope it will be a burner at the fair. If there's any left, I'll give it to my friend Evie to go with the ginger syrup. Homemade goodies are the best gifts, IMO.

Home made presents are definitely a winner in my book. Maybe it's because I'm a crafter, but I appreciate the amount of time and effort that goes into them.

No homemade gifts done by me this year, and not the last year as well as the year before. It´s too much effort for people who prefer other things. But hubby gives his selfmade bacon as a present!

I love homemade gifts. My aunt used to always make something for Christmas: a throw, pillow, sweet bread, cookies. Each was treasured.
