Too much of the good thing
Nov. 2nd, 2023 08:02 pmI tend to whine about my days being monotonous and boring, which is, well, unpleasant sometimes. But the other extreme does have its moments, too.
I started today with grocery shopping - Lidl and Aldi, respectively. I mostly went to Lidl to buy the cookie stamps I couldn't find anywhere last year. Now I have them, so stamped cookies will be done this year, in two different sizes and with five different motifs. Yay!
I also wanted to buy Spekulatius spread that Lidl has each year before Christmas. Only that all the jars I saw last time have now vanished. I hope they will reappear, but if they don't, I'll have to make Spekulatius-flavoured filling for my cookies from the scratch. I hope I find some instructions on the www about which spices to put into the spread, because no ready-made Spekulatius spice can be had in this country. *sigh*
After the shopping tour, I helped Mum with her morning routine, made the beds, made breakfast, and then we went for our bold journey to church. Which is right down our street, at the end of it, but Mum hadn't made any longer walks lately, so I was fairly nervous. Fortunately, we braved our adventure without any mishaps, and now Mum is very happy to have been to church again.
Coming home, I worked a bit on the little pillow cases and made another surprise box. They number 76 now. I just hope my friend Erica will bring me some more toilet rolls indeed, or I'll never reach the magical 100.
In the afternoon my friend Eenie came for a (rather long) visit. She brought me the desired lavender twigs. We had a good time, but I grew suddenly tired after two hours. A shame - I'm really no longer used to socialize with people, it seems.
So, this was my day. No writing done, but I've expected that with this to-do list. I had hoped to type up the rest of the finished chapter, but I'm simply too tired for that. Tomorrow. There's always tomorrow.

Date: 2023-11-03 07:03 pm (UTC)Last year I bought a cookie cutter with two different middle pieces — only that I still haven't figured out how to take out the one and put in the other one. There was supposedly a tutorial on the 'net, but I couldn't get to the place where it was. And the printed user's instructions did not include this basic detail. Grrrrrrrrr!
