Granted, a three-year-old (my young friend/colleague Gaby came over with Beni), but still - a rare occasion in our house. Since the young gentleman (Boss Baby as his mother calls him) is rather fond of "yummy things" (=sweets and cakes), I improvised a banana bread to honour the event. I always keep pureed bananas in the fridge in case I have to bake something really quickly, and in this case I only learned yesterday afternoon that they'd come.

We had a lovely time, the banana bread was a great success and Mum enjoyed herself immensely. :)

Crafting-wise I worked on the mini sewing kits again: I've sewn on 25 buttons, two on one small felt strip each, and stitched the felt strips to the inside of the kits. I also glued on the self-adhesive Velcro patches but delayed the stitching for another day or two, in the hope that my finger (the one with the paper cut) will have fully healed by then. The sewing together of the kits will have to wait for next week; I'm in delay with that part but I've done lots of other crafting things in the meantime, so it's okay.

Tomorrow will be grocery shopping time again because the fridge is fairly empty. I'll also have to buy some mineral water, so I guess I'll have to push the shopping cart home from Lidl and then bring it back again, after I've hauled everything up to the flat. No need for the gym in my life!

Aren´t three-year-olds sweet, at least as long as they don´t throw a tantrum?

We allowed him to eat all the cake he wanted so he was sweet all the time. ;))

Three year olds are adorable little monsters! The older I get, the more I marvel about the energy of children; how do their parents keep up?

At least stitching on buttons doesn't require too much concentration. I am always amazed by the number of people who say they can't sew on a button.

That baffles me, too. My third grade students managed to learn it without the slightest difficulty.

He is a cutie. Mum loves her "adopted" great-grandchildren (these young colleagues are some 30 years younger than I am... or more).
