Moist mocha cake - my version

wiseheartSo, I gave the recipe a try, and it went swimmingly - except that the stupid topping creme didn't set, so I had to apply drastic measures in the form of Express gelatine fix. That did the trick. Behold the results:
It isn't just pretty, it's extremely yummy, too. Mum was enthusiastic about it (we ate the side stripes I cut off to get a nice, clean side cut).
I also made a cauliflower dish that would last till Monday, consisting of boiled cauliflower, a 500g-tin of luncheon meat, some creme freche and lots of grated Edamer cheese. Yum! The boiling water was then used to make Tütensuppe. Considering that we had laundry day, too, and I spent the morning making the mocha cake, I consider that a gourmet meal. ;))
Crafting-wise I made some progress, too. 9 out of the 12 mini sewing kits are now equipped with the little lashes that will close them, complete with the decorative buttons and half the Velcro work. I'm proud of myself!
Tomorrow there won't be any cooking. We'll have leftover soup and the mocha cake, and my friend Evie promised to drop by for a short visit. I hope she'll manage - we haven't spent any quality time together for weeks, and phone conversations, while better than nothing, still can't beat a personal meeting.
