Baking madly
Sep. 29th, 2023 08:07 pmI got up an hour earlier than usual to get my baking on the way. Both my Fanta slices and my choc-cherry traybake turned out very well; we ate all the cut-offs for lunch and can now barely move. *g* I've also made the spinach crepes for tomorrow, so the only thing still on my to-do list are the cheesy scones.
Not much time was left for crafting, so I did some minor things: tiny little items made of the felt rests left after having cut out the doughnut keyring shapes. That gave me the chance to use up some sequins that were too large for my usual work, so it is a win-win situation.
Unexpectedly enough, I managed to write a few paragraphs for the Kindred-related plotbunny that has bitten me some time ago. I don't think it will ever become an actual story, but being able to write felt good.
Poor Mum is not having a good day. Last night she got tangled up in her blanket somehow and strained her bad leg to free herself. I was a bit angry with her for not having called me; fortunately, I can fall asleep fairly quickly again when I wake up during the night, and I could have freed her in no time. She's just too stubborn for her own good sometimes.
