Working hard on Sunday

wiseheart... what a blasphemy! But Sunday is the day with nothing watchable on the telly, so I need to put all that free time to good use. *g*
So, I started with baking a cranberry cake - because I had a bag of cranberries that went beyond their best before date. I downloaded several recipes and chose the simplest and easiest one. Not sure it was the best choice. Next time I'll give one of the others a try. This one turned out dry like sawdust.
Then I make the chicken(s) for the songbook(s). Now only the ant(s) is/are left, and then the real "fun" begins: putting the book together and binding it. *shudders*
For lunch, I originally planned simple boiled pasta with grated cheese. Then I realized that the two tomatoes in the fridge needed to be used up. And the cucumber. So I decided that it will be tuna pasta (had three 80g-tins in the cupboard) with veggies and a bechamel sauce. Consequently, instead of 20 minutes, cooking took an hour and a half. But there was pasta and grated cheese... only with some additions.
While the pasta was boiling (we need it really soft, since Mum doesn't have many teeth left), I put away the jars with the apricot jam, took down the dried washing and performed other small tasks. That was more housework than any sane person would like to have on any day, last of all on Sunday. But who said I was sane, eh? *g*
