Lazing around a bit

I overslept this morning by almost half an hour - that means turning the daily routine upside down. But I made up to myself by being fairly lazy. Making the honey chicken (lemon chicken was voted off because there's an egg white that needs to be used up) was postponed for tomorrow, when I'll also be making the last batch of apricot jam. Mum volunteered to make the plum soup, but we couldn't eat it today - she made it around 1pm, and it's still warm. It needs to be eaten cold. So we had some cheesy buns I bought yesterday, with a can of alcohol-free Radler, a coffee and banana bread. I love unhealthy food - it tastes sooo much better!

I continued at a very leisurely pace, by finishing the background of Page 8, which is the last page of the songbook. I still have to make three finger puppets (the bear, the chicken and the ant), and then I can try putting the book together. I live in holy fear of that phase, as I have no idea how to do it. It is a technique I've used on paper books repeatedly, but felt is a different matter. For starters, it is thicker than cardboard and not half as hard. Well, we'll see.

Other than that, not much else got done. We watched some telly, I read a bit fanfic on my geriatric laptop - sadly, the Solitaire page used to play on for at least a decade, seems to have vanished. Yesterday I still played on it, today neither IE nor Firefox could access it. Another small but cherished thing lost. :(

I wonder how the ant finger puppet will look like... Not my favourite insect. Have been in contact with their poison way too often, especially when I tried to bring them out of the pool, because I am a nice person.

I hate when computer programs just take it into their heads to do something without consultation. I use a browser called Opera and it suddenly did an update when I was asleep. Now the sidebar has changed and I don't like the new layout at all.

I saw on the comments that your Solitaire is back, yay! I have a couple of simple games bookmarked, used to play one called Incadia but the free version vanished when Java stopped :(
