As expected, it was a hectic day. Starting with the fact that I overslept (didn't hear the frigging alarm), so I run off to grocery shopping half an hour later than intended - without being able to help Mum with her morning routine first. Going early is important because of the frigging heat starting about, oh, 10am - and I left at 9.10!

In any case, I did the shopping; then we had breakfast and watched some crap telly, during which I did some crafting. I cut out and stitched on the little houses for Page #8 of both songbooks, plus stitched on one sun for the book without a deadline. Yeah, I know, stupid, but when I was there already... Six more suns to go, eventually, but both Pages #8 look fairly pretty by now.

Afterwards I did some writing; not much of quality, but at least two short scenes are now finished and a third one started. Progress is progress.

Then I cooked lunch. It wasn't actually planned for today, we originally wanted to have leftover soup with sandwiches, but I happened to find chanterelles at Lidl and couldn't resist, despite the fact that they were outrageously expensive. We hadn't had any for decades, literally. Back in Transylvania they were as common as white champignons are here (different climates), so we ate them all the time, and we both love them.

So yeah, I made Pfifferlinge in Rahmsoße with Semmelknödel from the pre-made package, and sour cherry Tütensuppe. The whole cooking took roughly 30 minutes - just the way I like my cooking. It was a delicious meal, Mum was in seventh heaven and promptly fell asleep afterwards during the second bout of crap telly watching. *g*

I managed to stay awake - barely - until Judge Barbara Salesch was finished - then I went to take a nap, too. My friend Evie called an hour or so later and we chatted on the phone amiably for another 40 minutes or so. Our phone chats are always quite lengthy. ;)

In the meantime I decided to post the first chapter of "Charmed into Darkness" to [livejournal.com profile] hiddenrealms. It is basically the background story to "Kindred Spirits" and still only some random parts of it do exist in rather disjointed form. I've been trying to tone down the rather explicit tone of said parts and put the whole thing together into a coherent plot, but that's still a long way to go. Still, seeing at least the first part of it posted makes me feel good.
