Staying in

... because it's still freaking hot in the outside, and fortunately I had no commissions today. So I did a lot of work on my songbooks, making nice progress. Household chores were limited, too, only helping Mum with her daily routine and making lunch, which was quick and easy. Tomorrow I'll have to go out for food shopping, but I'll do it early in the morning. Then they promise lower temperatures for the weekend - we'll see if they're right.

There was lot of lightning and thunder last night, but barely any rain where we live. I think the thunderstorm must have poured down a few streets behind us. I'm glad because of the balcony, but it didn't cool down the air at all. *sigh*

I hope the temperature cools off for you. It's been really hot here as well. I have been going for my walks at late morning closer to noon because I just have so much stuff going on in the mornings lately I just don't know if I'm coming or going. So by the time I walk it's pretty toasty. Now today we have health alerts out warning us not to do walking or strenuous activities out of doors because of ground level ozone whatever that is which is quite harmful apparently. But I have been busy doing grocery shopping and laundry and house cleaning all day and I'm finally sitting down to relax. I hope you are resting too after the busy day. We are very fortunate in this house because it has air conditioning. Oh my goodness I cannot believe what of wonderful thing it is to have. Our old house which we lived in for 30 years didn't have it and neither did the one before that which we lived in for 8 years actually I am thinking this is the first place I've lived that has it. So I hope you're well I hope the air cools off enough to enjoy the evening outside on the balcony.

Sounds like a nice day, even though it was bit hot.

We had lots of sun yesterday too, so my only excursion outdoors took place early evening and was only to the local shop. Today we have cloud, but it does not feel much cooler.

To be honest, the poor balcony is misused as a depot — everything that doesn't fit in the cupboards ends up there. Including my large supply of sugar that I need for baking and jam-making; the only thing that can survive the heat there. Of course, I still my end up with several kgs of hard caramel, but it hasn't happened yet. *g*

Air conditioning can be a useful thing, but my eyes don't really like it. No problem, though, since we don't have one.

Neither does it here, despite the occasional wind (like right now). They've promised thunderstorms and rain for the weekend; I just hope the balcony will be spared. *sigh*
