We had a second round of laundry today. Grandma's Rules say that the beds need to be changed every 6 weeks, so we washed the bedlinens, the pillow cases and the likes. Or rather Louise the Elder did. Still, it's an annoying process, as we have to navigate around the drying stuff for at least two days, now that there isn't any more heating.

Actually, it's pleasantly warm in the outside; unfortunately, the insulation works both ways, and right now it's still keeping the cold of the recent days inside the flat. So I hung up the heaviest, wettest pieces on the balcony, which isn't insulated and is therefore at least five degrees warmer than the rooms in which we actually live, and am hoping for the best.

In the morning I made a short food run and went to the Chinese supermarket for household paper stuff like kitchen towels. Since I'm an idiot, I forgot the most important item, namely the local equivalent of Calgoon. So tomorrow I'll have to go again. As we say in Hungarian: That which isn't in your head is in your legs. Grrrr!

At least I didn't have to cook today. We had leftover Tütensuppe and Black Forest slices, which will remain on the menu for tomorrow as well. I've simply made too much. Not that I'd complain about a cake diet, but I'm afraid my blood sugar levels are going to hit the roof in the next couple of days. *g*
Well, I bought asparagus for the day after tomorrow, so there's that.

On the crafting front, I've started working on the baby book in earnest. This time I'm doing it backwards, starting with the embellishments as long as I'm still motivated. Today I finished two of the 12 "diary" cards, which are meant to write up the baby's weight, height and milestones in each month. The decoration is detailed, which means I can use up a lot of my paper scraps. It's fun. The baby isn't done until early September, as I've learned, so I think I'll make something really elaborate this time. At least that's the plan. We'll see if I can pull it through.

Use your head to save your heels- (https://www.dict.cc/?s=Those) (https://www.dict.cc/?s=back.)I wish my brain would work the way it has worked when I was young. The only good thing is that I have a car now to correct the situation, while I had none when I was young.

I love that saying. It is so true. I hope your legs did not get too angry with your head for the extra journey.

We changed our bed on Saturday, including putting the lighter weight duvet on. I washed the duvet cover before I went to church on Sunday, and have just done the pillowcases and sheet this morning — the duvet cover is so big that it needs to be in the washing machine on its own.

That which isn't in your head is in your legs. I love that saying — our equivalent is 'my head could save my legs a lot of work'. I think I like yours better.

Sounds good in English, too. Never heard it before. Thanks for widening my horizon. :)

Housework just never ends. I so hate wasting my time on such things, but, to quote another Hungarian saying: "Do it yourself if you haven't any servants". It sounds much better in Hungarian, though: Magad, uram, ha szolgád nincsen.

What a great saying! Happens to me a lot. Maybe I'll remember to remember (lol) with such a catchy saying to remind me!

Not even sure if this saying is correct, because I heard it from our acquaintance, who was French Canadian, and her English was almost as worse as mine. But she did say it quite often- she was a bit disorientated at times!

Thanks. A lot of people would disagree because our language has so many "e"-s in it. In fact, you can even have (short) conversations with using only words with the vocal e. Which is why people call it a goat language. *g*
