Originally I intended to go to the bank and the post office in the morning, since I didn't have to cook today. But it was cloudy and rainy and cold and I just couldn't bring up the energy to do so. Hopefully tomorrow or the day after won't be raining (at least not in the morning), and it still won't be too late.

Instead, I worked a bit on my textile book cover, which meant putting in more temporary stitches and ironing the two parts. Alas, I only realized that I'd ironed a crease into the outer cover when the lining had already been ironed on. I'll try to lessen the damage when the book has been put together, but it still will remain slightly visible, I'm afraid. *sigh*

I also did a bit more knitting and discovered that I might have made a mistake in the pattern. It doesn't really matter, as this is merely a practice piece, and I'm learning by trial and error. The problem is, Mum no longer remembers how she's created the pattern originally, so I think I might have put in a row with the wrong stitches and turned the pattern around for the next section, but it's not so bad. Next time I'll know better... unless I forget it. Perhaps I should assign a notebook to my knitting experiments, so that I won't make the same mistake again and again. *g*

Addendum: Additionally, I've started my research re: the next baby book and found this absolutely gorgeous one:

Clearly, I won't be able to reproduce it in its entirety (no access to the wonderful papers and embellishments these ladies always have), but there are a great many good ideas I can use, so wish me luck!

Writing-wise it was a less than fruitious day but I did write a few lines of dialogue, so it was better than nothing. The weather is still lousy and we're still wearing several layers of winter clothes. Tomorrow we'll make pancakes, though, which promises to warm at least the kitchen up again. *fingers crossed*
I'm glad I skipped choir practice today. It's cold enough inside, going out into this arctic May weather would be even worse.

The weather is horrible, isn't it? We had 14° today ... that's not May weather. Grrrrr!
We still have the heating on but I try not to use it, only in the bathroom.

Come, dear May, and make...temperatures climb, and pronto at that!

God, I wish we could heat at least the bathroom! I chickened out from washing my hair today, it was so chilly.

I have turned my heating on for an hour this morning, because it's a bit chilly here, too. Yesterday I did not use the heating, but I did have to resort to fluffy socks and fleece jacket. When I look back at previous years fb entries I see pictures of bright sunny days, but they are proving few and far between so far this year.

Seeing that book has made me want to do something for P and A. I'm not sure whether I can transfer photo's from WhatsApp however. I shall have to experiment.

It is an amazing book, isn't it? Even though I won't be able to make those envelope pages — no idea how the original poster did them. They look like envelopes, but I doubt I'd be able to find any of their kind, and making them would be beyond my modest skills.
