... and I haven't even started my Easter baking yet! I've never been so late with it in my life! Well, in the last decade or so, since it has got a life of its own anyway. I do have a preliminary list, but that can still change. I think I'll start on Wednesday; it's better to have the big cleaning out of my hair first.

To my defence, I had several big crafting projects, none of them completely finished yet, and with fairly close deadlines, plus [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo is running its March session, so my nonexistent spare time is well and truly used. Still, Easter baking is important!

Today I made a food run to stock up on yogurt that was on offer and is outrageously expensive otherwise. I bought a lot of other stuff, too, not all of them on offer but all of them needed. However, I managed to forget about the baking margarine, and I seriously doubt that Lidl will still have any on Tuesday, when I get out of the house again. It isn't so that I wouldn't have frozen reserves, but I like to replace what I use up whenever they are marginally cheaper. Ah, well, I can but try, right?

Very little crafting was done today, but a surprising amount of writing, so it's okay. I also had a phone call from Ilonka, one of my (ex-)colleagues, also retired, so there was social life as well. :)

Three weeks? Wow, that is soon.

Too bad about the margarine, but maybe you can get some next week?

Good for the writing, and good luck with the baking!

I rarely go into my local supermarket nowadays, but I have noticed that fresh veg and salad always seems to be in low stock when I do.

Oh dear, only three more weeks! This year we will be spared the big Easter cooking and will have brunch instead, with everyone who will attend contributing to the catering. But why would there be no baking margarine in the shops? Here people fight over butter, but margarine?

I'll try tomorrow on my way to choir practice, but stuff on offer is usually sold out by that time.

Thanks. Love your icon, BTW. Actually, I love all your icons, they are so much fun!

Oh, we got enough of them, this is a big city, after all — the big city, in fact, 20% of the entire population live here, or so — it's just the ones on offer that sell out way too quickly.

There is enough. I just forgot to buy it while it was on offer — for a much more reduced price, almost half of what it usually costs — and I'm not sure I'll still find any of that tomorrow. I'll survive if I won't, it isn't so that I couldn't bake with Auchan's own brand (I always buy what's the cheapest, and my recipients haven't complained about the end results so far), but buying Rama for less than even that would be a real bargain! Yes, I'm a Pfennigfuchser, what can I say? I don't mind giving out my money for craft supplies, even if they are expensive, but it irritates me when I have to pay more for basic stuff when I could have bought it for less. Comes with age and a childhood spent in rather unromantic poverty, I guess.

I think it´s good to act as a Pfennigfuchser these days! Do not give those money-hungry grocery chains more money than required! It´s us costumers who can affect price policy by NOT buying their overpriced goods!

Thank you! This was from a cover of a book I saw on a store website, it came in two editions with same picture, slightly differently coloured, so I used one for LJ and t'other for DW. Historical domesticity, I love it :)
