I worked a lot on the baby books today. Made all the page bases - it was long, tedious and boring as I knew it would be. Working with double-sided tape is always a pain in the derriere, at least for me. Since I'm genetically damaged where gluing/sewing/cutting/drawing anything in a straight line is concerned, lining up 24 individual stripes of double sided tape proved a serious challenge. One that I promptly lost, as always. I don't think there was a single one that got lined up the way I'd have liked it to be. But that can't be helped. Some people are tone deaf. I "have a crease in the pupils", as the late Sister Richardis once so eloquently put. I have learned to live with my impaired sense of direction - since I had no other choice.

On the bright side, we had choir practice today, which is always fun. And it turned out that Erica's second grandchild is going to be a girl, which is great, as it means I can add some pink and lace and frills to Baby Book #3. Yay! I have more than enough of the girly stuff that needs to be used up.

On Sunday we'll sing in the National Gallery, together with the children's choir. It's exciting; the Gallery has fantastic acoustics, and the environment is accordingly inspiring. The only sad part is that Mum can't attend. She'd love to, but as she can't get into a car, taking her there isn't an option. Plus, sitting in a strange environment, on a probably uncomfortable chair for two hours wouldn't do, either. *sigh*

Knick in der Pupille, actually. She was my boss in the guest house — a woman of great patience and excellent humour.

Ooh, have fun singing in the National Gallery. Too bad mom can't come.

What a shame your Mum can't go to the concert — I do hope someone records it.

I love the 'crease in the pupils' comment. I am always challenged by sewing a straight line. Long seams are 'interesting' to work on.

I can't do straight lines either. That's why my garden beds are invariably a bit crooked, but I don't mind. :)

Too bad your mum can't attend. Can someone film it for her?

Someone probably will, if the Gallery lets them do so. But the thing she misses most is the atmosphere and meet the choir members afterwards. She's very popular with them, our conductor calls her "the choir Grandma". *g*

For me, they don't even have to be long. *sigh*

Perhaps; it still isn't the same, though. Those records are usually poor, done by friends or relatives of someone else, so the person Mum wants to see most is rarely visible on them. ;)
