Busy, busy day

wiseheartIt started in the morning with baking the sponge for the hummingbird cake. I think it turned out well enough, even if slightly too well browned in some places. But considering that this was a brand new recipe - and a brand new baking tin, too! - is isn't too bad. Besides, there will be frosting to cover the ugly parts. ;))
I also did some crafting: I've finished the front pages of all five Hello Kitty booklets, and I'm happy with the outcome. Considering all that finicky work I had to do with the individual details of the windows and doors and stuff, I haven't made too many mistakes. At least not too obvious ones. *g*

The physiotherapist lady cancelled the appointment because her younger son is down with some kind of bug that she didn't want to share with us. Very considerate of her; Mum didn't really mind. She's still recovering from yesterday's chiropodist session. And so am I, to be honest.
We are both looking forward to Friday's party and hoping that no-one will get ill until then. Mum deserves a little fun in her life!
