Just to avoid any misunderstandings: labour day means Saturday in our house. The day when the weekly laundry is done - among other things.

So, today I did the following things (in chronological order):
- helped Mum with her morning routine (daily event);
- changed the light bulb in the kitchen (involved climbing onto the ladder, so I was very, very brave);
- filled Louise the Older (=washing machine);
- baked banana bread (because I still had baking ingredients left over from Christmas);
- made lunch (since the oven was already on, I put the fish into it instead of frying; also made Petersilkartoffeln and a mixed salad);
- finished another quarter of the inner binding of Dani's quiet book);
- emptied the washing machine after it had run its circle and hung up the clothes

Yep, I thing this was it, since Mum did the washing-up and since crossword puzzles don't count as work, right? Still, I think I've deserved being lazy for the rest of the day.

I can just about manage to change a ceiling light bulb, but the six foot long fluorescent tube in the kitchen sparks fear and trembling.

Looks like my own to-do list! Only that I have to go up to the studio for a place on a not so practical sofa, because husband and cat occupy the nice one in the TV room...

Yes, my mini sewing machine. I've posted a pic a couple of entries earlier.

We have an ordinary light bulb above the working surface of the kitchen — fluorescent tubes are killer on the eyes — but it is hidden behind a semi-translucent white glass bulb that has to be screwed on after we've changed it...
