Time truly is relative, isn't it?
Jan. 12th, 2023 08:29 pmNot only that it seems to fly by faster and faster the older one gets, my addled old brain mixes up the days of the week, too. I got up today, mourning that it's Friday already, that the week is almost over, and that I haven't managed half the things I had originally intended...
... only to realize (about half an hour later) that it was still Thursday! Silly me! Not that I'd have managed too much anyway. I seem to get less and less effective with each passing day. As I've repeatedly stated, getting old isn't for wimps! *sigh*
I worked a bit on seaming the first double pages of the quiet book. 1/4 of the seaming is now done, and I'm developing blisters on my fingertips. But the show must go on. I've somehow misplaced my thimble (not that it wasn't way too small for my sausage fingers to begin with), so now I use the desktop to push the needle through the multiple layers of hard felt. Grrr! I'm so angry that the idea with the simple blanket stitch edging didn't work out! Cross grain ribbon is a real pain to work with.
Anyway, we had leftover tomato soup and the last piece of that whole orange cake for lunch, plus Mum volunteered to make a potato casserole (because our potatoes were starting to get wrinkles and needed to be used up), so I didn't have too cook. I talked with H. on the phone, and with my friend Evie, solved a few crossword puzzles and have been watching Neil Sean's vids on YouTube. Soon, there will be time for GBBO re-runs to round up the day.
