Today, I checked my lolly stick ornaments to see if any of them has lost some appliqué or else the glue had dried out in all the time since last Christmas. Then I packed together the Christmas cards, the felt ornaments, the tinfoil garlands and all other stuff I intend to sell on the fair. I unexpectedly found some tin cans that can be turned into pencil holders, which I'll do posthaste, to add them to my offerings. Then I'll have to wrap the surprise packets (for those with a very small budget), and I'll be basically done.

I also used some very pretty (and sturdy) wrapping paper and some double-sided tape to turn an old and battered shoe box into a very pretty Christmas gift box, which I'll use to present the tinfoil garlands (the box itself) and the Christmas cards (the lid of the box), respectively. It is important to present your wares in a pleasing manner if you want to make good sells.

The physiotherapist lady cancelled because her younger son caught this hand-foot-mouth illness or whatever it is correctly called. Mum wasn't very upset about it, though; she felt tired and sleepy and was glad to nap in front of the telly instead. Putting things back into their regular space after the bug guy cost us both some time and effort.

Then I went to choir practice, which was wonderful, as always. On my way there I did some shopping (washing powder, deodorant and the likes) at the Chinese supermarket, so when I arrived I looked like a pack animal. My fellow singers are always amused when I arrive like that - which is, practically, every time. *g*

Now I must make the baking plan for the rest of the week. I intend to put in at least two baking days, since the weeks after won't be suited for such things - charity fair, two concerts and a full-programme rehearsal and all that. Being retired can be pretty busy sometimes, but I love it that way.

Hand, foot, and mouth isn't fun, poor kid.

Presentation is definitely important when selling. When I did craft fairs a lot of my carrying was for table cloths, display boxes, shelves, lights etc. It took two of us to haul it all.

Well, you know how it is: I don't get out of the house often, so when I do, I have to connect various activities. *g*

Which is why I'm planning to be there an hour before the fair opens. I need to order my stuff so that they'd catch the customers' eye. ;))

I absolutely get it. I live out of town, so I also batch my visits.

It sounds like a 'good busy' day, and week to come.

Being retired can be pretty busy sometimes, but I love it that way. Oh I totally agree!

Being retired can be pretty busy sometimes, but I love it that way. Yep, because you can be busy doing what you want to do, not what you have to for the money.

Good to see you not only have choir again, but also the Christmas fair.
