I slept longer than usual due to the late fanfic reading night yesterday. Which is stupid, but the middle of the night is basically the only undisturbed time I have. Unfortunately, Mum tends to go to bed fairly late, too, so it's rare that I can outlast her.

Then I finished sorting out the rest of the sequins and am hugely relieved to have the stupid, fussy task out of my hair. The fact lifted my spirits so much that I decided to start with the Christmas-themed quiet book. As I said, it doesn't have an intended recipient yet, I'm just doing it for my own delight, but I'm sure it will find a good home eventually.

I've searched Pinterest and YouTube a lot, and for starters I chose this as a template:

Today I worked a bit on the page in the upper left corner, with the big red bauble. My pages will likely be very different, and I think I'll bind it into a proper book (unless I shy back from the binding part), but as an inspiration it's great.

Mum volunteered to cook today. After lunch we went for a walk because the weather was so pleasant. Then my friend Evie called to tell me that one of her neighbours (in the new house) came over and helped her start her own heating, so it's good news all around.

Late night fanfic reading is one of my joys. Your Christmas quiet book will be lovely; I can’t believe it is Christmas so soon. Where do the months go?

I haven´t read fanfic for quite a while now. It´s not that I go to bed late, it´s hubby who all of a sudden gets to bed earlier than usual, and then it´s lights off (or he will get his sleep mask, and i will have a hard time to recover from my laughing fit).

I'd like to know where time goes, too. *sigh*

Yeah, laughing your head off isn't a good thing when going to bed — you stop being sleepy.

Aren't they? And relatively easy, too. Sviatlana Balybina's patterns are a lot more elaborate, but often too complicated for me. Like this Christmas book (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlGW8L1LPGc&list=PLcIAcB4CX-eHV7ktQZuU_G-dEtVMe6F0I&index=15). I don't think I'd have the skills (and the tools and the materials and the patience) to give it a try!

That is a lot of stuff in that book.

It's intimidating, really.
