Shore leave

... even if it was short. I got a couple (=almost two hours) off, in which I went to the Allee shopping centre. I wanted to pay the craft shop (the nearest one now, since the better ones had closed) a visit, plus Mum wanted some more Lindt choclate balls. Unbeknowst to me, Allee had coupon days this weekend, which means that in a lot of shops one could get stuff 20% cheaper - including Lindt's and the craft shop. So I bought some felt sheets that I needed, some very pretty sheets of Indian paper that I didn't need but couldn't resist, and some small stuff like key rings and clasps that I might need in the not too distant future. And yes, I bought way more chocolate than originally intended, but that, too will keep. In the fridge as long as it's still warm, on the balcony afterwards.

My friend Evie dropped by in the early afternoon - we had another one of those exchanges in front of the building because she was in a hurry. Then Mum and I watched a bit the various remembrance programmes about the late Queen. And then I had a nice, long nap. Actually, we both had. We seem to be napping each afternoon lately, but I don't mind. It means not falling asleep in front of the telly in the evening. *g*

Crafting-wise I've finished the heads of the next 4 little angels and decided to make another 3 of the things, so that I'll end up with a total of 15. Folded and stitched the last 3 bodies. The rest can wait until tomorrow.

Afternoon naps are fabulous, you only have to keep them short, or you will feel even more tired than before.

I've enjoyed afternoon naps ever since I retired. In the last 10 years of my so-called career I worked the afternoon shift and it was really shitty, so I'm very happy now that my day isn't broken in two or three parts anymore.

I dare not buy chocolate in large quantities. I have no internal governor when it comes to eating chocolate and I would sit and eat the lot in one go.

I can't nap during the day unless I'm really exhausted or sick... maybe as I get older and further from work, I'll be able to.

Yay for Lindt chocolate!

I'm a chocolate addict, too. Fortunately, the attacks come in waves, they aren't permanent. *g*

I don't think it's a question of age, honestly. I could always sleep wonderfully in the afternoon, which is why I hated working in the afternoon shift.

Even if it inspires one to spend way more money than originally intended. ;))

Indeed, good days have become somewhat of a rarity.
