... like every other Monday. God, how I hate it! Yes, we do have help, but the cleaning lady just vacuums the wall-to-wall carpets and wipes the floors, plus she dusts the places we can't reach (because I'm afraid of heights and can't get any higher than the third step of any ladder). All the small, time-consuming and annoying things (like putting everything up on tables and cabinets, so that she can move around freely) is done by us, and it always eats half a day in advance. Another half a day afterwards when we put things back into their regular places.

I think I can bring myself to like a dirty environment, if it spared me this hassle.

The worst part is, that when the whole thing is over (like now) I find myself totally unmotivated to do anything else. That piece of ginger I bought two days ago is still waiting in the fridge to be peeled and grated and frozen, but I'm putting it off. I'm afraid it will go bad by the time I get around to do it - and ginger isn't exactly cheap over here. Nothing is. Save for human life, obviously.

I still have to scrub that... thing that makes our toilet 15 cm higher, so that Mum can sit on it safely (and, more importantly, can get up from it fairly easily). It isn't dirty per se, but I ought to de-scale it at least every other week... another thing I keep putting off. Yeah, I'm a terrible housekeeper, I know.

At least I didn't have to cook today. We had leftover carrot soup and the disastrous millionaire's slices, plus a ham and cheese sandwich each for lunch. That was perfect.

The only thing not related to the godforsaken housework was cutting out pieces for 4 more little felt angels and for the next batch of ornaments: the snowmen. But even that felt like punishment, so I stopped after the second snowman.
