Small household accidents

wiseheartYesteday, I was grating cucumber for a salad and managed to shave off the upper layer of skin from my thumb joint. Afterwards I stepped into some glass shards, due to a tiny little drinking glass Mum broke while doing the washing-up. Today, I took off the lid from a pot of very hot tomato soup and burned the tip of the same thumb. As if my fingers weren't hurting from stitching through several layers of hard felt and double-sided tape!
Housework is dangerous business!
But there were good things today, too. We've finally put everything back into the various cupboards, I cleaned the bath, the kitchen and the loo and even wiped the outer corridor, so the damn cleaning is done for a while.
Then I finished all my Three Kings felts (there will be a photo as soon as the glitter glue I used for decoration dries), cut out the major parts of the ten penguins (10x3 basic panels, the beaks and even some of the feet and the wings) and made a trial piece of this felt creche. Of course, the parts aren't sewn together yet, just taped together with the ever-present double-sided tape, and I use different colours and also sparkly, self-adhesive hearts and stars, but the trial piece looks fine enough.
Today was also a day of social life, as two of my friends (former colleagues) called and we had lovely, long phone chats. They even promised me photos from their vacation/the wedding of their daughter, respectively, so I now have something to look forward to.
Tomorrow will be laundry day, and I'm also tentatively planning to thaw out the freezer, which has been long overdue for months. There has been sooooo much sh*t in recent times, though, that I couldn't bring up the energy to do so.
