Icon choice because I'm fed up to the eyeteeth with the whole thing!

Anyway, aside from the woe factor, it was a quiet day. I worked on the quiet book binding, promptly found a serious fault with the book spine - after I had sewn it to the front cover firmly, of course - so it caused me hours and hours of unexpected work of the damage control kind. I think I have it now and can sew it to the back cover tomorrow, but my fingers seriously hurt.

I still worked a bit on the Christmas felts in front of the telly, though. The shepherds now all have a hand to hold their staffs, all sheep heads are stitched on, and the front and back panels are taped together, with the hangings also fixed with double-sided tape. Tomorrow I'll stitch them around, and then they can go into the "Christmas stuff" box.

I then cooked lunch: a very simple Chinese recipe called honey chicken, with rice and a tomato and cucumber salad. Mum approved. She might change her mind when she goes to do the washing-up (I don't expect her to do it, but she insists) and takes the first look at the kitchen.

Not much else happened. It is still very warm over here, so we try to get out as little as possible. I haven't left the house for the last three days, so tomorrow I'll have to make a food run as we have neither bread nor milk in the house. I'll go early, when it (hopefully) won't be that hot yet. They're promising 37°C later on, which is way outside my comfort zone. Like, ten degrees outside or so. I keep telling myself that I'm much better off than my friend Evie, who's changing houses right now, but it's still little comfort.
